Welcome to the Community

Previously known as Avalon Wellness Community (AWC)

If you've ever sat in a networking event, business card in hand, wondering if you're the only one feeling like a total idiot — I see you. I've been there too. The Community was born in June 2024 when I looked around and realised something was missing. A place that was gentle enough for a therapist and introvert to belong.

At times I wondered, what the hell was I doing. I was not an extrovert and I've never hosted a meetup before. But the passion was so strong that if I felt alone working as a therapist, then surely others did too. So I kept going, I kept turning up.

You know what? It worked. I am now a finalist and nominee for the community in 2 awards in 2026.

This isn't a networking group

We don't do awkward small talk, pushy elevator pitches, or business cards that end up at the bottom of your bag. What we do have is warmth, laughter, and a genuinely supportive community of brilliant therapists, counsellors, health and wellness entrepreneurs who just get it. Don't take my word for it, read what attendees have said.

A safe, non-judgmental space where you can show up as you are — whether you're just starting out, navigating the rollercoaster of running a business solo, or simply craving a chat before you turn into that person talking to themselves in the supermarket. I know the type as I have been known to do this myself!

We get to know you, the person first and foremost and then we get to know your business. As you are more than you business. Connections like these really do build a community around you that over time gradually grows your client list and your business. If you're not quite ready to join us then please do sign up to my newsletter to get a reminder of when all the meetups are taking place. And if you are ready then please grab a ticket below.

Our core values

The community is always adapting to what you need for your business but at the heart of it we always:

  • Treat people, as people first & with respect
  • In lifting others we rise together
  • Celebrate other people's successes
  • Have fun, business shouldn't be boring

By encompasing these values, we get to know each other and our businesses in a natural, authentic way. This then naturally leads us to referrals and collaborations down the line.

Here are what some of the attendees have said about the community.

The most fun I've had on a Friday for ages

I absolutely enjoyed myself and recommend to anyone considering time value in the future. It was very supportive

I found it really interesting, well presented and with heart. The exercise we did was useful and one I shall use a lot in the future

It's an opportunity for like minded people to come together and share their work, experiences, struggles etc

Very warm and friendly group! Really enjoyed it

I have attended these meetings and they are great networking events

My Story

As a software developer, I attended so many networking events where I left feeling more lost than when I arrived. I mostly hid in the corner or gave the impression that I had a UTI as I was in the bathroom so much! I felt so out of place.

So when I started up my therapy business I felt lost and lonely. I had gone from working in a team to just me. So I set up the Community. I hadn't done anything like it before and I nearly talked myself out of it more than once. But I thought — what's the worst that could happen? Let's try and see.

I'm so glad I did. The people I've met have been nothing short of incredible. If you're a business of one, feeling a little lonely in your work, I built this for you.

If you have met me on my travels I'm likely to describe myself as:

A collector of people, but not in a serial killer way!

It's the only way I feel I can describe how I love meeting people to then sign post their businesses to potential clients. I really hope that makes sense. If not, please do come along to a meetup so I can explain properly!

Awards

It is a privilege for the Community to be a finalist at the Best BusinessWomen Awards 2026 and nominiated for the New Earth Business Awards 2026:
